Logger Beta for Gen 3. Datalogging is available on every Gen 3 BMW with the Vitesco DME 960 or DME 961 (see the list below), in MG Flasher app version 502 or newer with the Gen 3 Basic Logger licence, free in the shop during the beta. Gauges, saved logs and MG Flasher Logs Cloud work the same way as on Gen 1 and Gen 2 cars.
Last reviewed: 02 Oct 2026. This page is updated with every release while the Gen 3 logger is in beta.
Which Gen 3 cars are supported
Gen 3 means the Vitesco DME 960 or DME 961 engine computer fitted to the newest B58 and B48 BMWs. The logger beta works on all of these Gen 3 models:
M340i (G20 / G21)
M440i (G22 / G23 / G26)
2 Series (G42)
8 Series (G14)
X3 M50 (G45)
X5 (G05)
X6 (G06)
X7 (G07)
5 Series (G60)
To confirm your own car, run Check Support in the MG Flasher app: it reads the DME and shows which generation you have.
How Gen 3 logging is different
In this beta, a Gen 3 car is logged by identifier (DID). Each parameter is a data identifier that the Vitesco DME reports through the standard UDS diagnostic service (ISO 14229), the same mechanism BMW's own tools use.
On Gen 1 and Gen 2 cars the logger can also read parameters directly by memory address. The Vitesco DME can also read parameters by memory address, but MG Flasher's support for this is still in development and will be delivered as soon as it is ready. Stay tuned for updates. Until then, on a Gen 3 car:
The OEM Addresses source is not offered in the parameter list yet.
The address-based parameters from the Gen 1/2 list (boost controller components, load limiters, HPFP, injection, wastegate duty cycle and similar) are not available yet.
The parameters below are the complete curated set for Gen 3 today: 39 on a B58, 35 on a B48 (the cylinder 5 and 6 rows do not apply to a four-cylinder engine).
Depending on your access level you may also see an OEM IDs source listing BMW's raw identifier names (for example STAT_MOTORDREHZAHL_WERT). Those are BMW's internal measurement names taken directly from the DME; they are not curated or renamed by MG Flasher.
Available parameters
Default means the parameter is selected when you first open the logger. Gauge means it is also shown on the dashboard by default. You can change both in the logger settings.
